Ahh, the lazy days of summer.
We've had a summer packed with fun! Thanks to our playgroup, we're never at a loss for something to do! The picture above is from our trip to Beech Bend water park with some playgroup friends. We finished the day with icecream cones!
Sarah has been walking full-time for about 2 weeks and she's quite the pro! She's even mastered walking in the pool!
These days, Sydney has become Sarah's best friend. I found that out after Sydney went to spend the night with her Gramma Pewitt. Sarah was out-of-sorts the entire time Sydney was gone. Even I hadn't realized how much Sydney means to Sarah until now. Sarah wouldn't play like she usually does when Syd's here. She just cried, fussed, and whined. Now I know how much help it is to have Sydney around to entertain Sarah. Syd is such a good big sis. Whenever Sarah cries, Syd says, "You okay, you okay" and pats her on the back.
When Sydney began really talking last January, it's just been full-speed-ahead eversince. Her latest line is, "What you saying?" It's as if she always wants to make sure she hasn't missed out on a conversation. Sydney's been practicing her "potty" abilities "yike a big gir" as she says. And, she's been doing quite well.
Storytime has been a big hit with both girls. They just love the part where they get to sing songs. Sydney knows just about all the words to all the songs and Sarah's great with clapping and dancing. Sydney even listens to the story most of the time.
We finally got all but one Pewitt grandchild together for a snapshot. How we love to hang out with the cousins! Shaylin stayed with her mom and dad in Hawaii on this visit to Tennesse. We look forward to seeing her this Christmas!
On a sad note, our little friend Jack and his parents have moved all the way to Phoenix, Arizona. Jack was Sydney's FIRST best buddy. Even Sarah grew very fond of Jack. Sydney was also quite attached to Jack's mom, Elizabeth, (or Bubbis, as Sydney called her.) Whenever Sydney would pretend to be on the phone she would say, "I talkin' to Bubbis and Jack." Or, if we were in the car going somewhere she would ask, "Go see Bubbis and Jack?" We hope we'll see them again soon. We're sure going to miss Jack and Bubbis!

Great pics, Vickie! And I approve of the teenager wearing the Rolling Stones t-shirt in that last one. It's nice to see a younger generation with such good taste these days.
