I guess we're on the down-side of winter. Seems crazy, 'cause Halloween is still fresh in my memory! And, I guess we've seen our one and only "big" snow (1 inch worth, that is.) Fine with me. I'm ready for spring, now. Today, was the second day in two weeks that the girls' preschool was closed for snow (and today I could hardly tell it had even snowed!) So, we joined our buddies for a trip to Joelton to the Kids Fundome. It's a big, renovated roller skating rink that has everything "FUN" for kids like a big-wheel race track, big slides, swings, bouncy rooms, a
big castle, dress-up clothes, craft tables, train sets, blocks, play kitchen, etc., etc. A great way to spend half a day.
Okay, so after a the girls had a full day of not much more than cookies, cupcakes, sweet heart candy and chocolate during their Valentines parties at school, I am now aware of the consequences of too much sugar. By 4:00 that afternoon, Sarah was unrecognizable to me. She immobilized me with fear as we walked into Publix and she suddenly began a re-enactment of the Exorcist! All eyes were on us as Sarah let out a horrifying scream, not once,
but 3 more times, because she was opposed to the grocery cart I had chosen. While Sydney refrained from any psychotic displays, she was a bit more disagreeable than usual that afternoon and had a hard time getting to sleep that night. Luckily, there are only 4 holidays each year that involve candy! They had fun making their own Valentines for their school friends. Of course, anything involving glitter-glue HAS to be fun!
Our new favorite thing to do is going to the Downtown Nashville Library once a month to see some of the Nashville School of Ballet students put on a show. They dance to a book or story being told by a narrator. When the story is over, they invite the children to come up on stage and show them how to do some of the dance steps. The girls and I just love it.
Warmer weather is promised for next week. We desparately need some outdoor time. Definitely going to try to hit some parks while we have the chance!
