I'M OLD

Well, it's official. I'm old. Not because I recently turned 38. It was that innocent comment that could only come from a 3-year-old.

"Mom...I don't have wrinkles like you."

Hicklen Farms Pumpkin Patch

Our first visit of the season to the Pumpkin Patch. I really just wanted to try out my new lens and filter hoping that, with some practice, when we go again next week I might be able to get some really good pics of the girls and their friends. I need more practice, though! I was able to get a few good shots out of the hundred I took. I narrowed down the 100 by half, here www.thepewitts.shutterfly.com

This makes our third year for visiting Hicklen Farms. The husband and wife who own the farm are the kindest people you'd ever meet. They always have a place for the kids to paint little pumpkins that they give them for free.

We have to be sure and make it back next week before all the pumpkins are gone!

Lawnchair Theatre

Before I begin writing about our Fall activities and posting Fall pictures, I wanted to be sure to post a note about one of our favorite summertime evening outings. Leiper's Fork is a fabulous place to shoot some great pictures. Although, I've not had a chance yet to really photograph the beautiful landscapes there and hope to do so this fall. However, I was able to get some decent images of the girls while attending the popular Lawnchair Theatre which takes place every Friday evening at dusk. Hopefully, by next summer my photography skills will have improved and I'll be able to get some stunning pictures of this beautiful place.
